Hey!

I just got my RAT 7 today! happy with it, But i cant create profiles, The programming tab in Smart technology program is all blank, its just white...Iv tried reinstal like 4 times, reconected mouse and everything, but i get no screen on that part. Rest works just fine.

I really want that part to start working ;/ I need some help

Are there any plans to add a "per application" feature for profiling/programming in the ST software for the R.A.T.?

I have been using Microsoft mice for a while now and one of the things that I like about the MS mouse drivers/software was the ability to program the buttons based on what application is opened and is active/in focus.

I switched to the RAT for ergonomic reasons mostly. (The MS mice I've used, while quite functionally featured, weren't exactly ergonomically friendly.) I find the lack of being able to switch functionality on the fly between the various programs I use on a daily basis something of a nuisance. It's minor, but I had grown accustomed to that functionality/flexibility in/from my previous mice.

@David Nowak - make sure you're running the latest version of the drivers for your graphics card.  We've seen a couple of ATI owners running older drivers that had the same issue as you.

I had the same problem (white program tab page)as Dawid Nowak. However if I switch to English display language in windows instead of Swedish I am able to access programming tab. I have a English version of windows 7 and I have .net framework 4.0 installed. Read somewhere that this problem had to do with using wrong version of .net framework but its the same with both 3.5 and 4.0 version of .net framework.

Hopefully Saitek support will read this so they can figure it out.

One thing I'd love to be able to do is bind leaning left and right to the scroll wheel, so I can turn it right to lean, and then bring it back a notch to go back upright.

I'm discussing it with a friend who's just got one who says that's not possible.

Could you make it possible please!  I've never managed to adjust my keybindings to having lean in games, so I've just done without, but it's starting to get me killed in Red Orchestra and such.

@Richard - I have the same blank programming page issue as Dawid Nowak, and I use a nVidia GTS250 graphics card with the latest drivers installed.
Any solution on this would be nice.

We've discovered the problem behind the blank programming screen - it seems some language versions of Windows are suffering from this (you'll note that all of you on this page reporting this are from the Nordics) so we're issuing an updated version of the software.  You should see a new post here on the Blog later today detailing this.

I am having problems with my rat 7 . I downloaded some of the game profiles to run with it. I'm working on it for probably five or six hours trying to get it to work properly. I can get all the buttons programmed, except for the thumb scroll. I cannot get it to work on any game. When I do the test on the CYBORG programming all the buttons work correctly including the thumb scroll, but it seems as soon as I put it into the game. The thumb scroll does not work. I am at a complete loss and get everything else working except for the thumb scroll. If any of you have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it


PS I downloaded all of the game profiles, the ones that I got on your site. And I have them all working again for the games they do have still can't get him scroll working in game, would appreciate any feedback very frustrated that you.

Hi,

Probably best you contact support directly but I can say that if the test screen is showing those scroll functions working correctly then there's no reason that they shouldn't work in-game.

a few weeks ago i recieved my rat 7 mouse. unfortunalty when i right click the mouse icon and hit profile editor after a few seconds i get an error report from smart technology.exe. i sent a message to the support to the cyborg people and recieved a message saying " download the important 3.5 frame whatever whatever...." so did that however it did not work. if you have any idea on another thing to download that will make it work would be greatful,

hi just got my new rat 7 mouse and it is very impressive. but when i try running the profile editor i get an error report from magic technology saying that its crashed and then it doesnt start. i contacted a support person and recieved a message about downloading framwork (or something like that) 3.5. so i did but it had no effect.

would be greatful for a solution

The COD profile should be back in there now - check it again.

As for that crash error, the software does require that you're running .Net Framework 3.5 updated to SP1.  If you're the guy I was talking to on email I sent you something else to try but you didn't get back to me to say whether it worked.  That suggestion was to try the dynamic download option here:

Just click the blue Download button and see if that then gets it updated to SP1.

Got the rat7, installed the windows 7 64bit drivers, i get a smarttech splash and crash. No help in the faq other than update .net i have .net, did a reinstall of .net same.

Love the mouse, not impressed with support of this.

Go to the last tab (support)
then right under in the corner choose
youre Language !
Restart the profile editer
and the problem is fixed

However, it cycle through each windows very fast
then it difficult to select the right windows.

Right now, still working on timer to slowdown the Tab process.

ok folks. I just got the RAT 7 today from best buy. I installed the software pluged in the rat. The mouse woks fine but everytime I got to open the Profile Editor I get a crash error. I search the error online and it says something about .net. I currently  have:

.net 1.1
.net 2.0 SP2
.net 3.0 SP2
.net 3.5 SP1
.net 4 CLient Profile
.net 4 Extended


SO what is da deal? this is the first time that I have ever got this error. I wann use this RAT 7 right away for playing RIFT and Global Agenda. Please fiz right away

Really cool mouse, but I'm having problem using this mouse while playing world of warcraft. If i assign a "shift" + mouse button on the sides, it does not register the "shift", it only registers the buttons on the sides. Is there anyway to config that?

Would it be possible to request a rapid fire profile for the RAT mice series? I play games like UrbanTerror, Arma II, and CoD MW2, and am finding the software hard to deal with. I use a latched macro, with 7 mouseclicks. This is recognized in the 'test' area of the software, but I am unable to make this work in-game. Thank you very much in advance for your help, and I am loving my R.A.T 3, the best mouse I have ever owned. Harry.

Hi everyone,

I recently got this mouse and (of course) instantly began trying as many different ways as I could think of to configure it.

After loads of tinkering I had it set up to a point I was happy with and saved the profile.
Began gaming and worked on in-game sensitivity tweaking and the like.

As with every new bit of hardware/software, something turned up that I hadn't factored in and I tried to jump back into the profile editor.

You guessed it... Splash>crash!

I rebooted, reinstalled software/drivers, checked on-line (found this thread), tried the MS.NET link. Nothing helped.

Then I tried something that I thought would do nothing: Switch out of the profile I was using.
I had saved the profile separately to the default. This actually stopped the crashes.

Don't know if it will help everyone with this problem. If it works for you, let people here know?

I just got RAT-9 wireless mouse to use with my laptop as regular mouse with my laptop not for games alone but i am asked to plug-in he braided USB cord to enable configuration. i got today my new cyborg rat 7, i installed all driver and software directly from web just to make sure its all updated, i go to programming and i clik new botton but it does nothing ... how can i create new profile?

pd:when i go programming i can see all buttons have some function, i click new but it does not goes blank to proggram new functions.

I ordered a 129,- euro Razer Mamba for my brand-new iMac 27 a few weeks ago, but the Razer Mac drivers are even worse than any standard driver in OS-X. Then the quality of the mice is bad, very bad, so is the capacity of the battery.

I returned the Razer Mamba and bought the R.A.T 9 instead.

And wow: it's working great right away, I couldn't believe it!
Then you get so much more for less money: 2 batteries, a customisable mouse with several extra parts etc...
After the install of the drivers & software, I couldn't be happier to see the results: this is really a great product.

Even if the mice has the look of a Transformer, I'm in love with it!

have purchased cyborg v3 game pad, downloaded also both driver and software from the saitek web page, but the controller doesn´t work!!! as i start the sotware, i get the notice, that i have to switch on the controller, because the programm doesn´t recognize it. It works only with nfs hot pirsuit, but doesn´t work with other games. Where´s the problem?!

You need a profile for Skyrim. I've been playing that since it came out Dec 11. I love your mouse by the way. I toasted my wrist last year and with titanium plates and screws, it's hard to use a normal mouse.

When I try to open to ST software i get an error that says No Controllers Found, Please Connect the device you want to program and open again. Hello, i'm trying to have my percision aim button perform a rapid fire shot (i don't use the percision aim so yeah), it's mainly for pistol use on mw3. I've read most posts above and specificly the one about rapid fire. I opened up my Advanced macro screen and pressed my left mouse 3 times in the Press screen. However when in game and press the percision aim button it only shoots ones.

Does anyone have or know where I can d/l a profile for 3ds Max.  Yes, I know it's not a game,,, I just bought a Cyborg RAT 7 for use in Autocad 3ds Max, Maya, Mudbox, and PhotoShop.  I've got the profile for PhotoShop and thank you for that.
If someone could help with this I would be most appreciative.  

P.S.  I do play some games, Crysis, BF2, UT GOTY edition, FarCry 2.  Yes, I am a FPS junkie....lol
